Oakland County, Michigan Government is seeking a Procurement Specialist to support county departments and offices with procurement and contracting. The role covers ITB/RFQ/RFP processes, requisitions, and supplier management in a hybrid work environment.

Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least two years of procurement experience. You will interact with multiple departments, ensure compliance, and contribute to cost‑effective purchasing and risk

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Public Administration or closely related field.
• At least two (2) years of full‑time work experience in procurement, purchasing, or contract administration.

Responsabilidades

• Coordinate procurement meetings including pre‑bid, bid openings, awards, negotiations, and bidder debriefings.
• Attend site visits and support procurement communications via email and phone.
• Solicit and evaluate RFQs and RFPs; issue purchase orders in accordance with policies.
• Issue ITBs for goods and construction under $1M.
• Process requisitions over $25,000 within Workday.
• Analyze supplier quotes for pricing, lead times, and specifications.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors for communications and pricing.
• Maintain quotes, vendor contacts, and historical pricing for future bids.
• Coordinate with Counsel and Risk Management for contract review and insurance requirements.
• Create and process contracts and amendments per policies.
• Participate in contract negotiations to support favorable outcomes.
• Ensure timely follow‑up to meet bid deadlines.
• Support quarterly supplier performance reviews and issue resolution.
• Support FOIA requests and trainings as needed.
