Job summary

Oakland County is seeking a Strategic Sourcing Agent to lead high-value procurements and supplier management for the county. You will oversee formal solicitations, negotiate favorable terms, and drive value through strategic sourcing and risk mitigation.

You will guide the full procurement process from specifications to award, engage with departments and vendors, and ensure fair, transparent practices in a hybrid Michigan workplace.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a business-related field with focus on procurement or supply chain.
• Six or more years in a purchasing department or procurement role.
• Experience leading formal solicitations valued at $1M+ and complex contracts.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction bids and complex, high-dollar solicitations (≥$1M).
• Guide procurement methods, set evaluation criteria and pricing matrices.
• Negotiate contract terms and monitor supplier performance.
• Maintain reports to inform procurement strategy and portfolios.
• Represent the County at procurement events and vendor outreach.
