Job summary

City of New York seeks a Staff Analyst to support DCAS with budget analysis, spending review, and liaison duties across purchasing and HR processes. The role includes processing new hires, managing PASSPort/FMS actions, and monitoring weekly reports for DCAS Police staff activities.

The candidate will contribute to quarterly cost tracking, invoicing, and special analytical projects, ensuring compliance with agency rules and funding usage.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree with two years of professional experience in budget or fiscal areas.
• Associate degree with four years of related analytics or budget experience.
• High school diploma with six years of relevant professional experience.
• Combination of education and/or experience equivalent to the above.

Responsibilities

• Review LOS spending and coordinate with the agency’s Purchasing and Budget teams.
• Serve a LOS budget liaison.
• Analyze budget needs and submit budget modifications as needed to ensure efficient use of available funding.
• Assist HRBP with LOS new hire processing, interview logistics, and finalizing paperwork for candidate selections.
• Assist with LOS Purchasing utilizing PASSPort application for actions and FMS for view.
• Review and analyze weekly report run of DCAS Police staff meal activity and identify discrepancies.
• Track and prepare LOS quarterly reimbursable costs.
• Track and update on a weekly basis contractual invoice payments.
• Special projects and other analytical duties as needed.

Education

Master's degree in economics, finance, accounting or related field
