Job summary

The City of Elgin, IL is seeking a full-time Management Analyst to provide analytical, project coordination and administrative support to the City Manager’s Office and other departments. The position focuses on process improvement, research, program analysis and special projects in a dynamic municipal environment.

The candidate will work across departments, monitor budgets, assist with procurements, and engage with residents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public administration, business administration, political science, public policy, urban planning, economics or related field.
• Minimum of two years of professional experience; master’s degree preferred.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical, project management and administrative support to the City Manager’s Office and departments.
• Coordinate projects and strategic plan initiatives; track actions and prepare updates.
• Review workflows with IT; document needs and support new systems and training.
• Participate in cross-departmental teams and support employee engagement.
• Monitor City Council agendas and assist with research and follow-up.
• Assist in budget development, monitoring expenditures and policy compliance.
• Support contract administration and procurement processes; evaluate proposals and process payments.
• Deliver excellent resident service and represent the city at meetings.
