Job summary

The Washington State Board of Industrial Insurance Appeals (BIIA) seeks a skilled applications developer to join a five‑person team. You will design, code, test, and implement solutions, supporting templates and reports that interface with the agency's main business app.

You will also back up the DBA role, manage MS SQL tasks, and develop reports using Salesforce, Apex, and SOQL. This position is hybrid with required Oregon? WA residency and periodic travel.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. Relevant work experience may substitute, year for year, for the required education.
• Three (3) years of experience programming in ASP.Net, C#.Net, VBScript, and JavaScript.
• Three (3) years of experience in MS SQL using Visual Studio and MS SQL Tools.
• One (1) year of experience in Salesforce as a developer or system administrator.

Responsibilities

• Application development, design, coding, testing, and implementation. Knowledge of the agency's primary application, database structure, and agency business practices is required to answer questions about reports, troubleshoot user problems, create and maintain templates, and support processes and applications that interface with the agency's primary business application.
• Backup Database Administrator (DBA) – Assist DBA supporting test and production environments for all databases, performing routine administrative tasks such as resetting user passwords, permission changes, and creating new users. Maintain MS SQL scripts.
• SQL/SOQL Reports and Queries – Assist with programming, maintenance, quality assurance, troubleshooting, and support for agency reports, ad-hoc queries, and Public Disclosure Requests using SOQL, Salesforce Report Writer, Apex scripting, and MS SQL.
