Job summary

SSA Marine, Inc is seeking a Business Intelligence Engineer in Seattle for a hybrid role blending WFH and in-person work. You’ll join the Procurement Data & Tools team, building internal web apps, dashboards, data pipelines, and system integrations to empower procurement decisions.

This position combines software development, data engineering, analytics, and product thinking to shape solutions with user input and measurable business impact, including AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• 2-6+ years building applications, internal tools, automations, or data solutions.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong product judgment and clear communication with stakeholders.
• Curious, self-directed approach to learning new technologies quickly.
• Hands-on experience using coding agents for development and verification.
• Experience with Git and GitHub (branching, merging) and CI/CD basics.
• Familiarity with SQL, relational data, data transformation, and cloud services.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with procurement users to understand workflows and translate needs into requirements.
• Build and maintain internal applications, reports, data pipelines, models, automations, and integrations.
• Define work context and guide implementation when using coding agents; own the result.
• Analyze data to answer business questions and communicate findings clearly.
• Apply product and UI/UX judgment to make solutions useful and intuitive.
• Contribute to AI-enabled development and improve workflows with agents and tools.
• Deploy, support, and improve solutions based on real usage and feedback.
• Learn and adopt new technologies as business needs evolve.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
