Job summary

The Office of the Auditor of State (AOS) seeks a Forensic Audit Manager to lead forensic audit efforts across Northeast Ohio. The FAM will implement audit plans for public entities, assess internal controls, and apply fraud-detection techniques to identify misuse of taxpayer funds.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or related field.
• 3+ years experience in external audit environment.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Experience with governmental financial accounting, reporting, and auditing is desirable and experience in fraud examination is a plus.
• Professional Certification as a CPA or CFE is a plus

Responsibilities

• Implement forensic audit plans within the geographic region to which they are assigned.
• Obtain an understanding of client internal controls and financial procedures.
• Apply AOS approach for performing forensic audits and execute fraud detection techniques.
• Prepare audit summaries and audit comments and findings.
