Job summary

The Ohio Auditor of State seeks a Forensic Auditor to perform fieldwork and apply forensic auditing techniques to detect fraud within government entities. You will understand client controls, implement AOS methodologies, and prepare audit findings, covering the East Region’s Stark County area and surrounding counties.

Responsibilities include assessing internal controls, executing fraud detection techniques, and compiling clear audit summaries for review.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
• 3+ years experience in external audit environment.
• Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
• Experience with governmental financial accounting, reporting, and auditing is desirable and experience in fraud examination is a plus.
• Professional Certification as a CPA or CFE is a plus

Responsibilities

• Perform fieldwork associated with that of an experienced Audit Staff or Auditors in Charge at a CPA firm, including understanding client internal controls.
• Implement the AOS approach for performing forensic audits and execute fraud detection techniques.
• Prepare audit summaries, comments and findings.
• Cover fraud investigations across geographic quadrants within the East Region (Summit, Portage, Stark, Carroll, Jefferson, Columbiana, Mahoning and Trumbull).
