Job summary

Auditor Of State in Ohio is seeking a Forensic Auditor to perform fieldwork, assess internal controls, and apply the AOS approach to forensic audits in government entities; the role covers the East Region including Stark County.

You will compile audit summaries, findings, and comments, with a focus on fraud detection; a Bachelor's in Accounting or related field and 3+ years external audit experience are required, plus CPA/CFE a plus; travel within assigned region is expected; flexible schedules

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
3 or more years experience in external audit environment.
Must have a valid Ohio driver’s license.
Experience with governmental financial accounting, reporting, and auditing is desirable and experience in fraud examination is a plus.
Professional Certification as a CPA or CFE is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform fieldwork as part of a forensic audit team.
Understand client internal controls and financial procedures.
Implement AOS approach for forensic audits and execute fraud detection techniques.
Prepare audit summaries, comments, and findings.
