State of Maine seeks a Financial Analyst for the Security and Employment Service Center in Augusta. The role focuses on managing financial resources for multiple departments, performing monitoring and reporting on federal awards, and advising on budget development and monitoring.

The position requires a Master’s in Business Administration or related field with at least two years of cost/benefit and financial analysis experience.

Competenze

• Eight-year combination of education and experience: MBA or closely related field plus two years in cost, cost/benefit, and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and data gathering skills; able to prepare budgets, forecasts, and financial statements.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel; familiarity with data query/data management tools.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present financial data to management.
• Supervisory and mentoring capabilities; work independently.

Mansioni

• Perform monitoring of subrecipients of federal awards and prepare reports.
• Provide in-depth analysis of departmental finances to keep management informed.
• Design and manage complex data queries and interpret results for decisions.
• Prepare financial reports, forecasts, and ad hoc analyses as requested.
• Analyze policies and procedures and implement modifications to improve efficiency.
• Administer and maintain accounting records in line with federal and state requirements.
• Develop, forecast, and track annual budgets and federal grant budgets.
• Supervise and mentor staff and provide technical guidance.
