Job summary

BDO USA is seeking a State Government Finance and System Project Manager to lead public-sector modernization engagements. This role is embedded with state, county, and municipal agencies to drive enterprise software initiatives, business process optimizations, and strategic IT transformations.

You will manage client relationships, direct cross-functional project teams, and ensure delivery of milestones across multiple engagements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; focus in Business, Accounting or Finance preferred.
• Five or more years of project management experience required.
• CAPM or PMP certification required; SmartSheet certifications preferred.
• Experience with State and Local Government or other regulated industries preferred.
• ERP systems & technology implementation experience (Infor, Workday, NetSuite, Tyler, OpenGov) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides project management support for client project management teams leading software selection, implementations, and system integrations
• Handles core systems and staff augmentation roles
• Develops, builds, and revises procedures and client playbooks for system rollouts
• Helps to protect clients from vendor scope creep and monitors project risks
• Oversees documentation, project timelines, and internal and vendor-facing deliverables
• Other duties as required to support changing client needs across different agency engagements
