Job summary

The State Government Finance and System Project Manager at BDO USA leads public-sector modernization engagements embedded within state, county, and municipal agencies to drive enterprise software initiatives and IT transformations. You will manage client relationships, direct cross-functional teams, and ensure timely delivery across multiple engagements.

Education requires a bachelor’s degree; CAPM or PMP is required, with five+ years of PM experience and ERP experience.

Qualifications

• Five or more years of experience in project management.
• Familiar with ERP systems and technology implementation best practices.
• Experience with State and Local Government, nonprofit, and other regulated industries.
• CAPM or PMP certification is required.
• SmartSheet certifications are preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provides project management support for client project teams leading software selection, implementations, and system integrations.
• Handles core systems and staff augmentation roles.
• Develops, builds, and revises procedures and client playbooks for system rollouts.
• Helps to protect clients from vendor scope creep and monitors project risks.
• Oversees documentation, project timelines, and internal/vendor-facing deliverables.
• Other duties to support changing client needs across agency engagements.
