Job summary

Databricks is seeking a Field Chief Technology Officer for the Public Sector to serve as a senior, customer-facing technology and mission transformation leader for government and education accounts.

This individual contributor role focuses on data and AI strategy, public-sector operating models, and executive relationships, helping agencies modernize data estates while ensuring security and responsible AI.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of enterprise technology and public-sector transformation experience.
• Significant U.S. public-sector experience with government or education.
• Customer-facing leadership in pre-sales, strategy, or advisory roles.
• Strong background in data architectures, analytics, governance, and AI platforms.
• Experience with public cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• U.S. citizenship and active clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build trusted‑advisor relationships with C‑level and mission leadership across public‑sector accounts.
• Shape executive thinking on secure data and AI modernization, lakehouse focus.
• Lead executive briefings, strategy sessions, and mission workshops aligning priorities to Databricks roadmaps.
• Engage architects, engineers, analysts, data scientists, and security stakeholders on design trade‑offs.
• Translate customer needs into reusable reference architectures and blueprints.
• Partner with sales, solutions, product, and services to drive multi‑year platform decisions.
