Job summary

MITRE is seeking a Computer and Data Science Intern to join our N558 team in Omaha, supporting complex technical challenges for national security and defense missions. You will work with a team of experts on data analysis, software development, and modeling, applying CS/AI/Math concepts to real-world problems.

Ideal candidates are full-time students in CS, AI, Data Science, OR, or related fields, capable communicators, and eligible for DoD clearance.

Qualifications

Sustained excellence in academic performance.
Must be a student enrolled full-time in an accredited undergraduate or graduate degree program in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Data Science, Operations Research, Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering, or a related degree and continue to be enrolled full-time the semester following the internship.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret or Top-Secret security Clearance.

Responsibilities

As a Computer and Data Science Intern in Omaha, you will work with a team of experts supporting complex technical and operational challenges.
Support software development for data analysis, visualizations, or modeling and simulations.
Apply knowledge in data science, computer science, mathematics, operations research, or related disciplines to real-world problems.
Assist with AI/ML research efforts.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams that may include software engineers, data scientists, experiment designers, domain experts, and other technical staff.
Present findings, prototypes, or technical work products to teammates and stakeholders
