Job summary

MITRE is seeking an intern in data science, operations research, math or statistics to join a team of experts and gain hands-on experience across data analysis, visualization, and analytics. You will contribute to applied mathematics, statistics, optimization, simulation, and systems modeling while working onsite and pursuing an accredited degree.

Qualifications

• Must be a full‑time student pursuing an accredited degree in Data Science, Math, Statistics, Operations Research or related disciplines.
• Must continue to be enrolled the semester following the internship.
• Foundational knowledge of data science, math, statistics or operations research methodologies, frameworks, tools and/or programming languages.
• Must have sustained excellence in academic performance.

Responsibilities

• Assist data science team in data analysis and visualization.
• Support augmented decision-making and trusted analytics projects.
• Contribute to applied mathematics, statistics, and optimization efforts.
• Help with simulation and computational analytics tasks.
• Model systems and analyze operational effectiveness and efficiency.
• Support knowledge discovery and next-generation data environments.
