Job summary

The City of Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation is seeking a Contract Administrator to monitor and administer contracts between contractors, consultants, and service agencies for the Engineering Department. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and supports project performance.

The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration or related field and at least one year of professional contract administration experience; a valid Michigan

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public or Business Administration, or a related Human Services field.
• At least one year of professional work experience in Contract Administration or related work.

Responsibilities

• Monitors projects and financial/performance reporting; enforces contract provisions and recommends changes.
• Participates in bid solicitations, proposals reviews, negotiations, and contract drafting/amendments; processes contracts for signatures and change orders.
• Provides technical assistance to contractors/contract agencies; follows up on corrective actions for contract compliance.
• Maintains records and prepares reports; attends meetings; keeps abreast of trends in contracting for public projects.
• Administers grant programs; assists in writing/reviewing grant proposals and reporting to funders.
