Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Solutions Architect for the WWPS Greenfield team in Arlington, VA. You will guide new-to-cloud public sector customers through discovery, architecture design, and trusted relationships to accelerate cloud adoption.

You’ll partner with Account Executives to craft territory strategies, lead technical discovery, and deliver architectures aligned to customer outcomes in a proactive engagement model.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or CND (Certified Network Defender) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials).
• Experience with one of the following programming languages: Python, Ruby, Node.js, C#, or C++.
• Experience with two or more of the following: networking fundamentals, security, storage or databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, or Windows).

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical point of contact for new-to-cloud public sector customers in the United States, guiding them from first workload to production.
• Partner with Account Executives on territory planning, account prioritization, and customer engagement strategies.
• Conduct technical discovery sessions to understand customer pain points and recommend AWS-based solutions.
• Design and present foundational cloud architectures aligned with customer business outcomes and US public sector requirements.
• Build repeatable plays and enablement assets for common customer scenarios (cost optimization, compliance, legacy migration).
• Evangelize AWS technology through workshops, proof-of-concept engagements, and technical content.
