Job summary

Tarrant County is seeking a Governance & Performance Analyst (Levels I–IV) to support the Budget and Risk Management Department in planning, analyzing, and overseeing countywide budgets. Depending on level, duties range from entry-level budgeting to senior-level leadership of complex analyses and cross-department projects.

Analysts contribute to financial data review, expenditure monitoring, and ensuring compliance with County policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Planning, Analytics or related field required.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience in budgeting, financial analysis, and cost accounting is expected across levels.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, evaluating, and monitoring departmental and countywide budgets.
• Review and analyze budget requests for alignment with County objectives.
• Monitor expenditures and identify variances with recommended corrective actions.
• Prepare recurring and ad-hoc budget reports and data analyses for leadership.
• Estimate program costs and forecast revenues and expenditures.
• Analyze accounting data to determine funding needs for programs and initiatives.
