Job summary

MDS Staffing is seeking an Audit Director with a State and Local Government specialization to join a progressive regional CPA firm. This role offers a fast track to partnership and a reasonable work-life balance in a hybrid environment.

You will lead engagements, manage staffing, develop staff, and nurture client relationships while identifying new business opportunities. Travel to client sites is required; relocation assistance is available for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years of public accounting experience with a senior manager role in the public sector.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field; CPA license.
• Ability to travel to client and firm locations.
• Demonstrated ability to bring in new business to a CPA Firm.
• Experience auditing in accordance with GAAS, GAGAS (Yellow Book), and the Uniform Guidance.

Responsibilities

• Maintains contact with clients and manages multiple engagements.
• Acts as engagement partner or reports to the engagement partner.
• Signs attest opinions when serving as engagement partner.
• Oversees engagement workflow and scheduling; ensures policy compliance.
• Mentors and trains staff; participates in performance evaluations.
• Leads business development and prospective client meetings; develops fee estimates.
