Cohere is seeking a seasoned Public Sector Account Executive to drive strategic sales growth across U.S. State, Local, Education, Federal, and Civilian agencies. Based in the Washington, D.C.

region, you will leverage your network to position Cohere’s AI platform as a mission-critical tool for government customers. You will own the full sales cycle from prospecting to closing, collaborate with legal, solutions engineers, and marketing, and navigate complex procurement processes to win high-value

Qualifications

• 8+ years of direct public sector sales experience in the U.S.
• Proven track record of closing multi-million dollar annual quotas
• Deep knowledge of federal, state and civilian procurement cycles
• Established network in the DC metro area with gov't agencies and prime contractors
• Experience selling SaaS/enterprise software to government clients

Responsibilities

• Territory Ownership: craft and execute a strategic US public-sector plan.
• Relationship Building: engage C-level and government decision-makers.
• Procurement Expertise: navigate GSA/SEWP/ITES and compliance frameworks.
• Solution Selling: map Cohere AI solutions to agency challenges.
• Pipeline Management: forecast, manage RFPs, and coordinate with teams.
• Market Intelligence: monitor policy changes and competitors.
