Job summary

Southern Crescent Technical College in Griffin, GA seeks an Accounting Technician (Full Time) to support tuition processing and billing operations at the Griffin Campus.

The role requires a high school diploma with at least 1 year of bookkeeping or accounting clerical experience; an associate’s degree and Banner AR experience are preferred. Responsibilities include cash handling, billing, deposits, and student registration support.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or equivalent and 1 year of bookkeeping or accounting clerical experience.
• Preferred: an associate’s degree in accounting or business; experience with BANNER – Accounts Receivable.

Responsibilities

• Receive cash, checks, and money orders from students for tuition and fees.
• Balance receipts and post to accounting records.
• Obtain routine billing information from outside agencies and perform billing functions.
• Prepare and mail statements of accounts and other routine mail-outs.
• Maintain billing and related files and records.
• Prepare bank deposits.
• Assist with New Student Registration Sessions.
• Perform limited, routine clerical duties such as typing and answering the phone.
• Demonstrate strong work effort and commitment to duties.
• Work effectively within the organizational structure and team.
• Demonstrate trustworthiness and responsible behavior.
