Stafford County Government's Finance department is seeking an Accounting Technician to perform clerical and accounting tasks, including data entry, journal entries, and maintaining financial records. The role supports auditors and prepares financial reports.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, detail-focused, and able to work in a fast-paced public sector environment. Pay ranges from $22.05 to $38.59 hourly with growth opportunities based on experience.

Formación

• Graduation from high school or equivalent with bookkeeping coursework.
• Experience in general office work.
• Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping terminology, methods, procedures, and equipment.
• Knowledge of governmental accounting principles and related data processing systems.

Responsabilidades

• Posting journal entries and reconciling funds.
• Gathers, assembles, and tabulates budgetary and other financial data; Checks invoices, maintains financial records and compiles reports.
• Assists with year-end audit support and financial report preparation.
• Assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable entry.
• Tracks contractor payments and arranges for transfer of funds.
• Collates, sorts, and compiles fiscal data in accordance with procedures.
• Performs related tasks as required.
