Job summary

The Florida Department of Health seeks an experienced accounting professional to perform accounting and auditing duties in the Disbursements Section. The role requires handling payments, reconciliations, and voucher processing across MFMP/AOD and FLAIR systems.

Candidates should have strong knowledge of accounting principles, be proficient in Office software, and demonstrate the ability to work independently while ensuring accurate posting and timely payments.

Responsibilities

• Performing accounting functions associated with the auditing and scheduling of payments to vendors, providers, and other agencies.
• Recording, collecting, reconciling, reporting, research, and maintaining accounting records.
• Tracking all unpaid vouchers to ensure proper posting by the Department of Financial Services, State of Florida.
• Monitoring pending invoices for compliance with Prompt Payment Compliance.
• Inform supervisor in a timely manner of all pending invoices that are 15 days old per the three transaction criteria as established by the state law.
• Auditing & preparing invoices for payment by obtaining and auditing supporting documentation, including purchase orders, contracts, and journal transfers, receiving report, correspondence, etc.
• Processing returned and deleted vouchers from the Department of Financial Services.
• Analyzing disbursement data and recording the appropriate transaction in AOD and FLAIR systems.
• Producing vouchers for submission to Department of Financial Services for payment.
