Job summary

Boston Medical Center (BMC) is seeking a Public Safety Officer-2 in its Department of Public Safety to provide police, security, parking, transportation and desk services across the medical center. The role emphasizes strong customer service, incident reporting and de-escalation to maintain safety and service quality.

Candidates should hold a HS diploma (AS in Criminal Justice preferred), 6 months to 1 year in security/customer service, CPR certification, and valid MA motor vehicle operation

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; AS in Criminal Justice or equivalent preferred.
• 6 months to 1 year security and customer service experience
• Must be able to obtain CPR certification and operate a vehicle in MA

Responsibilities

• Responds to requests from the Public Safety Supervisor to meet operational needs.
• Responds promptly to emergencies, incidents and requests for assistance.
• Documents incidents and informs the Public Safety Desk Officer of actions taken.
• Provides escorts for patients, visitors, employees and students as needed.
• Enforces access control and parking policies and documents violations
