Job summary

Boston Medical Center is seeking a Public Safety Officer-5 to join the Department of Public Safety. The role covers police, security, parking, transportation and desk operations to ensure safe, efficient service across the medical center.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, documenting incidents, conducting investigations, and providing escorts and access control. Candidates should have a HS Diploma and CPR certification, with security and customer service experience preferred.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma required; AS in Criminal Justice or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to obtain and maintain CPR certification.
• 6 months to 1 year preferred Security and Customer Service Experience
• Detailed in responsibilities and duties

Responsibilities

• Perform daily operational functions per supervisor or desk officer to meet needs
• Respond to stat requests for assistance promptly
• Respond to emergencies, contingencies or disasters immediately
• Document incidents and inform Desk Officer of actions taken
• Complete incident reports clearly and submit before shift end
• Use customer service and community policing to build relationships
• Manage complex and emotionally charged situations to restore order
• Investigate suspicious activity and mitigate risk to patients, visitors and staff
• Take appropriate police actions when required
• Provide escorts and access control and ensure only authorized access
