Job summary

The City of Boca Raton is seeking a Police Social and Digital Media Coordinator to plan, develop, and implement communication activities across social media, the website, and print materials. The role supports the Public Information Manager and Police Services in delivering clear, compelling information to the Boca Raton community.

You will create multimedia content, manage social channels, respond to inquiries, produce public safety alerts, and help drive recruitment and outreach efforts while

Qualifications

• An associate’s degree from an accredited college or university OR equivalent amount of college level course work in communications, media, or related area of study.
• Three years of progressive responsibility working as a media or digital media coordinator.
• Two years of work experience with video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Avid Multimedia Editor or FinalCut).
• Possession of a valid State of Florida Class ‘E’ driver’s license.
• Two years of experience within a public safety or similar public service environment (preferred).
• Ability to provide creative work samples, including multimedia projects or evidence of successful social media campaigns.

Responsibilities

• Creates multimedia (audio/video) content for distribution on Social Media channels.
• Serves as the Department’s photographer and set designer.
• Captures quality images for internal and external use.
• Creates and designs graphics, flyers, pamphlets, and other print media.
• Monitors and maintains Department social media profiles, groups, and tools, and makes recommendations for replies, engagement, and/or management.
• Responds to inquiries via social media and escalates or re-directs as needed.
• Produces public safety alerts and emergency information.
• Develops electronic and print media to support recruitment and community outreach.
• Manages content calendar and outreach campaigns.
• Coordinates with external vendors for content and ensures final approval.
