Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking a Public Information Officer in the Office of Public Communications (OPC). The role oversees media relations, content creation, social media management, and crisis communications, delivering strategic communications for county programs and services to 2.1 million residents and 7,000+ employees.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in public administration, communications, or closely related field required.
Six years in public relations, public information or media relations, including two years supervisory experience.
Ability to secure and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License on appointment and throughout employment.

Responsibilities

Write and produce print and digital publications (brochures, newsletters, displays).
Develop and post website and social media content; draft news releases and speeches.
Respond to media inquiries; plan and coordinate communications plans and events.
Oversee PR, media, advertising, and promotions; manage website, presentations and community outreach.
During emergencies, serve as part of ESF-14 Public Information.
