Job summary

INTEGRIS Health Enid Hospital in Enid, OK seeks a variable shift Public Safety Sergeant to join our security team. You will supervise personnel, serve as Fire Marshal on shift, and oversee patrols to protect staff and property.

This role requires a CLEET Armed License or retired Police Commission and IAHSS certifications; we value experience, training, and the ability to respond quickly to incidents in a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• 1-year prior security experience.
• CLEET-Armed Security License OR Retired Police Commission.
• IAHSS-CHSS certification.
• IAHSS-CAHSO certification.
• IAHSS-CHSO certification.

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties and areas of responsibility to personnel supervised and provides necessary training.
• Functions as Fire Marshal for the assigned shift and responds to emergency scenes.
• Conducts patrols by vehicle or on foot to protect personnel and property.
• Ensures compliance with employee regulations and prevents disruptive activity.
• Controls traffic and investigates incidents; issues citations when appropriate.
• Oversees training and progress documentation for new security personnel.
• Assumes role of Public Safety Supervisor when directed; reports to Public Safety Lieutenant.
• Interacts with combative individuals and may participate in fire or bomb threat responses.
• Work occurs indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Assigns duties and areas of responsibility to personnel supervised, assesses performance effectiveness and provides necessary training.
• Functions as Fire Marshal for assigned shift, responds to all emergency scenes pending arrival of other authority, assist with various drills, and inspects fire equipment.
• Conducts patrols by vehicle or on foot with the objective of protecting personnel and property.
• Ensures adherence to employee regulations, policies and procedures and prevents criminal, destructive, or disruptive activity.
• Controls pedestrian and vehicle traffic, ensuring that vehicles are secure and safe. Issues traffic citations and conducts accident investigations when appropriate.
• Completes special projects and assignments as directed by a Public Safety Specialist or higher level of authority.
• Assures the Supervisor is kept advised of current unusual incidents, operational matters on assigned shift, and status of personnel, equipment, and supplies.
• Oversees the training and documentation of progress for new security personnel.
• Assumes the role of Public Safety Supervisor when directed. Reports to a Public Safety Lieutenant.

• Interacts in situations with combative persons.
• May participate in fire situations.
• Participates in bomb threat search.
• Work is performed inside building where hazardous chemicals and gases are present, as well as outside in all types of weather.

• 1-year prior security experience.
• CLEET-Armed Security Guard License OR Retired Police Commission
• IAHSS- Cert HC Security Supervisor (CHSS)
• IAHSS-Cert Adv HC Secur Officer (CAHSO)
• IAHSS-HC Security Officer (CHSO)

Preferred Qualifications

• Armed CLEET License or Retired Police Commission
• Associates degree or above
• CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association
