Job summary

INTEGRIS Baptist Medical Center in Oklahoma City, OK is hiring a variable shift, full-time Unarmed Security Officer to protect patients, staff and visitors. The role emphasizes prompt response to emergencies, traffic and access control, and collaboration with Public Safety leadership.

Candidates must hold a CLEET license per listed options, meet IAHSS certifications within specified timelines, and maintain an English communications standard.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
• Possess and maintain a current Oklahoma State Driver’s License and a driving record acceptable to our insurance carrier.

Responsibilities

• Secure property and facilities, address unauthorized access.
• Manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic; issue citations and investigate accidents as needed.
• Escort patients, visitors, and motorists upon request.
• Support fire drills and inspections for hazards or unsafe conditions.
• Document incidents with detailed written reports.
• Assist with helicopter pad operations during landings and emergencies.
• Follow direction from Public Safety leadership on projects.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and regulations.
• Assist clinical staff with managing disruptive individuals.
• Detain suspects until law enforcement arrives.
• Respond to combative interactions and emergencies like fires or bomb threats.

Responsibilities

The Public Safety Officer Unarmed responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

• Secures property and facilities, identifying and addressing unauthorized or illegal access.
• Manages pedestrian and vehicle traffic; ensures vehicle safety; issues citations and investigates accidents as needed.
• Provides assistance to patients, visitors, and motorists, including escorts upon request.
• Supports fire drills and conducts inspections for hazardous or unsafe conditions.
• Documents incidents accurately through detailed written reports.
• Assists with helicopter pad operations during landings and emergencies.
• Completes assigned projects and follows direction from Public Safety leadership.
• Ensures compliance with organizational security policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Assists clinical staff with managing and restraining disruptive or violent individuals.
• Detains suspects when appropriate until law enforcement arrives.
• Responds to and manages interactions with combative individuals.
• Participates in emergency responses, including fires and bomb threat searches.

Qualifications

• CLEET-Armed Security Guard License OR CLEET-Unarmed Security Guard License within 6 months of hire
• IAHSS- Cert HC Security Supervisor (CHSS) within 1 year of hire
• IAHSS-Cert Adv HC Security Officer (CAHSO) within 1 year of hire
• IAHSS-HC Security Officer (CHSO) within 1 year of hire
• MMPI or CPI psychological evaluation required post hire for Taser weapon evaluation
• Possess and maintain a current Oklahoma State Driver’s License as well as a driving record which is acceptable to our insurance carrier.
• Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1 year of private security, law enforcement, or military experience
• 12 credit hours of college
