Job summary

County Of Monroe is seeking a Records Bureau Specialist to manage LEIN terminal duties, enter and retrieve warrants, and assist the public and law enforcement officers. This full-time, non-exempt role supports jail access controls and records management within a multi-division public safety framework.

The position requires a high school diploma with accounting/data processing coursework, one year of bookkeeping experience, multitasking ability, and LEIN certification eligibility.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with coursework in accounting/bookkeeping and data processing.
• One year of bookkeeping-related experience, preferably in a law enforcement setting.
• Ability to obtain LEIN operator certification during employment.
• Must be at least 18 and a United States citizen.
• Must possess a valid operator’s license.
• Background and fingerprint check will be conducted.

Responsibilities

• Operate LEIN terminal to enter, retrieve and cancel warrants and property records.
• Assist the public and law enforcement officers; provide information and direction as needed.
• Control access to jail and county sheriff’s facilities; support civil, traffic and records divisions.
• Coordinate with Civil Division and Traffic Services when divisions are closed.
• Maintain records and ensure secure handling of sensitive information; open 24/7 coverage.
