Job summary

The City of New York's Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks a Manager for Public Safety Communications Facilities in Brooklyn, NY. You will oversee Public Safety LMR remote sites, coordinate access, supervise staff, and manage vendors to ensure reliability, readiness, and resiliency of critical communications infrastructure.

You will collaborate with engineering, operations, and facilities teams, drive preventive maintenance programs, and lead upgrades and projects with minimal impact

Qualifications

• Experience managing Public Safety LMR remote sites.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate vendors.
• Experience developing and maintaining preventive maintenance schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee operation and maintenance of Public Safety LMR remote sites (shelters, rooftops, towers, backhaul, power).
• Coordinate access to remote sites for staff, vendors, and contractors.
• Supervise support staff: inspections, maintenance tasks, escalation, follow-ups.
• Manage vendor relationships: service calls, schedules, deliverables, warranties.
• Lead projects involving remote site upgrades, equipment replacements, and power upgrades.
• Coordinate with engineering, operations, facilities, vendors, and building reps for safe, efficient projects.
• Develop and maintain preventive maintenance schedules for remote sites and inspections of shelters, grounding, cabling, and power.
• Liaise with building management, landlords, and facility contacts on access, construction impacts, lease requirements, and safety.
• Maintain records of site equipment, inventory, conditions, access procedures, and maintenance history.
• Handle special projects and initiatives as assigned.
