Xcel Energy in Hawaii is seeking a strategic Public Safety Program Manager to develop, implement and document corporate safety initiatives and coordinate pipeline regulatory compliance programs. The role coordinates activities across internal stakeholders, manages vendor contracts, and supports public safety communications and documentation to meet state and federal requirements.

• Bachelor’s degree with emphasis in communications or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years experience in the utility industry preferably in a communications, training field and project management.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a diverse and rapidly changing business.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate projects that support Xcel Energy’s Public Awareness Written Plan and regulatory compliance.
• Serve as project coordinator for operating company public safety programs and liaison to state/federal pipeline safety regulations.
• Provide documentation and research to demonstrate continuous improvement of public safety programs.
• Oversee contracts with vendors and communicate performance expectations to support the annual public safety budget.
• Engage internal stakeholders and external partners to support public safety messaging.
