Job summary

Xcel Energy is seeking a safety professional to lead mid-to-large projects ensuring OSHA compliance and safe work practices across locations, including Minneapolis. The role emphasizes hazard assessment, audits, and training to reduce injuries and improve workplace safety culture.

You will collaborate with site management, safety committees, and vendors to implement controls, monitor regulatory changes, and provide guidance on best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related discipline.
• At least 3 years of work experience in safety.
• Recognized safety certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical safety consulting to internal customers and advise on hazard controls.
• Perform safety audits, ergonomic assessments, and reviews of accident history.
• Monitor federal, state, and local safety rules and advise on compliance options.
• Develop and deliver regulatory compliance training for new hires and annual OSHA training.
• Engage management to strengthen safety leadership at locations.
