Job summary

Dorney Park is seeking a dynamic leader to oversee the Public Safety operation, ensuring a safe and enjoyable environment for guests and associates. The role coordinates security activities, assists in developing safety policies, and ensures delivery of superior guest service by Public Safety staff.

Responsibilities include managing budgets, leading a fast-paced team, investigating incidents, coordinating with law enforcement, and training park leadership.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant safety and/or security experience.
• Proven leadership abilities with a team-oriented approach.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• OSHA 30 certification required, or ability to obtain immediately upon hire.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Ability to travel by plane and/or car for training/court sessions.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing the operation of all Public Safety Departments including Security, Loss Prevention, Safety & First Aid, Traffic, and Risk Management; develop emergency response procedures and loss prevention initiatives; maintain partnerships with local authorities.
• Lead the Public Safety team in a fast-paced environment, maintain professionalism and integrity.
• Manage the Public Safety Department budget and staffing; monitor expenses and seasonal labor levels.
• Conduct accident investigations to determine root causes; inspect areas for hazards and risk.
• Monitor park patrol and investigative activities.
• Oversee and participate in responding to and investigating incidents, gathering evidence and preparing reports.
• Assist in handling litigation; liaison with attorneys and insurers; testify as needed.
• Coordinate recruitment, interviewing, training, scheduling, and supervision of Public Safety staff; develop training programs.
• Respond to medical incidents and complete incident reports.
• Implement and update Safety Compliance Manual and related procedures; support Corporate Safety Standards.
• Oversee security program implementation to ensure safety and compliance with laws.
• Coordinate drills with local and state agencies; review Emergency Response Procedures.
• Develop training for Park leadership and Public Safety staff; coordinate emergency simulations.
• Adhere to park policies and demonstrate commitment to customer service.
• Other duties and travel as required.
