Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Security Officer to handle routine safety and emergency security within the facility. The role acts as the first responder to all emergency incidents and protects patients, staff, visitors, and property.

Strong de-escalation skills and sound judgment are essential for engaging with combative or escalating individuals. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED, with no experience required and two years of general security/public

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED is required.
• No experience required; 2 years in general security/public safety preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must complete all required training (e.g., Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid).
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
