Job summary

Piedmont Newnan Hospital is seeking a dedicated security officer to safeguard patients, staff and visitors while upholding our commitment to a safe and compassionate environment.

You will be the first responder to emergencies, screen for weapons, monitor facilities, document incidents, and actively de-escalate situations to protect people and property, guided by Piedmont policies and state laws. This on-site role at Newnan requires strong customer service and situational awareness.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 2 years in security or public safety preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain training to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Piedmont values and provide excellent customer service to patients, staff and visitors.
• Screen for and interdict weapons entering a facility.
• Maintains security of the hospital, professional buildings and parking lot/deck.
• Responsible for a variety of safety routine and emergency security activities.
• Perform incident documentation and initial incident investigation.
• Actively monitor all at risk patients and deescalate difficult situations.
• Respond to aggressive behavior and apply physical restraints as needed.
• Demonstrate respect and courtesy in job performance.
• Perform documentation in the medical record.
• Enforces all PHC policies, regulations and applicable state and federal laws.
• Directs traffic when required.
• Assists patients/visitors with directions and emergencies.
• Advocates crime prevention and a secure work environment through observation, interaction, and intervention.

Responsibilities

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility. Responsible for the safe de-escalation of critical events and the use of sound judgment in the engagement with combative or escalating subjects.

Qualifications

Education

Work Experience

• 2 years experience in general security, military or other public safety experience Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
