Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Safety and Security Officer to act as the first responder for emergencies within the facility and safeguard patients, staff, and visitors. The role emphasizes de-escalation and prudent judgment in potentially volatile situations.

Responsibilities include maintaining routine safety and security, conforming to state requirements, and completing mandatory certifications. Pre-employment screening and ongoing training are required.

Qualifications

• GED or HS diploma required.
• No experience required; 2 years in general security or public safety preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Must pass and maintain all training certifications (Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, etc.).
• Georgia POST certification preferred.

• DL NUMBER - Driver License, Valid and in State & adhere to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500 Upon Hire Required
• IAHSS - Certification As A Security Officer within 1 Year Required
• Must pass pre-employment psychological screening Required
• Must pass and maintain all training requirements to maintain employment to include certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed Required
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification Preferred
