Provide security detail as outlined in the post orders and establish working relationships with customers, local law enforcement, and fire departments. Security personnel will perform job duties with constant awareness of surroundings, noting all activity in the assigned area. Maintain a professional image and demonstrate excellent customer service.

Basic Functions

• Control entrances and movement of pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Patrol buildings and perimeters.
• Escort materials and personnel.
• Inspect security and fire exposures.
• Perform special assignments.

Responsibilities

Duties may vary based on department size, organizational structure, location, and post assignments. Reasonable accommodations may be provided for ADA requirements. General duties include:

• Report to post in full uniform and on time.
• Greet customers, visitors, and employees professionally.
• Stay updated on post order revisions and general information.
• Patrol or monitor fixed posts, report suspicious activity, and investigate incidents.
• Monitor cameras and equipment as per post orders.
• Know emergency policies, procedures, and regulations for responding to alarms and incidents.
• Complete reports such as Daily Activity Reports, Log Books, and Incident Reports.
• Recommend safety and loss prevention improvements.
• Maintain knowledge of life safety systems, fire panels, CCTV, and other equipment.
• Ensure safe operation of elevators and access doors, and know maintenance contacts.
• Ensure compliance with training and regulatory guidelines.
• Communicate security issues or changes to the Security Supervisor daily.
