Job Title: Public Safety Officer

Job Responsibilities

1. Report infractions of University rules and regulations, state law, and city ordinances.
2. Protect and secure University property and equipment.
3. Control admittance to certain buildings and areas.
4. Serve as Assistant Locksmith as required.

Required Qualifications

1. Minimum of three years of public safety experience preferred. Alternative training such as military or civilian police, criminal justice coursework, or specialized certifications may be accepted.
2. High school diploma or equivalent with sufficient communication skills.
3. Availability for overtime as required.
4. Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record per the university’s Motor Vehicle Policy. A MVC check will be conducted at hire and as needed.
5. Satisfactory background check. Candidates must sign a waiver for this check.
6. Successful completion of a post-offer medical/vision exam and drug test by a licensed medical practitioner, indicating fitness for the role.
