Job summary

The City of Fort Worth IT Solutions’ Public Safety division is seeking an IT Solutions Architect to provide strategic, enterprise‑level direction for CAD, RMS, EMS integrations and 911 systems. This architect acts as the technical gatekeeper for the city’s mission‑critical public safety environment, guiding sound technology decisions.

The role defines architecture standards, ensures interoperability and resilience, and leads cross‑department coordination to align technology with operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field.
• Five years of increasingly responsible experience in an applicable field.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• CJIS background check qualification requirements.

Responsibilities

• Define, plan, and design enterprise‑wide technical solutions for CAD, RMS, EMS integrations and 911 systems.
• Establish and govern architecture standards across public safety systems, ensuring consistency and compliance.
• Provide cross discipline technical direction, mentoring staff on complex public safety architecture.
• Research emerging technologies and recommend improvements.
• Participate in planning efforts to ensure new CAD, RMS, EMS, and 911 solutions.
• Oversee vendor‑provided platforms affecting CAD, RMS, EMS, and 911 environments.
• Ensure compliance with City policies and standards.
