Job summary

Gfoat seeks a senior technology leader to develop and oversee public safety IT initiatives for El Paso’s police and fire departments. You will steer project governance, coordinate with city DoITS, and drive modernization of critical systems including emergency networks, body-worn cameras, and GIS tools.

You will manage budgets, schedules, and resource allocation, while ensuring cybersecurity and regulatory compliance. Leadership and training responsibilities are central to this role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in information systems, computer science, business administration, engineering, or related field.
• Eight years of progressively responsible IT project management experience for large-scale systems or services.
• Three years in a management or supervisory capacity; PMP credential within six months.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive public safety technology strategy for El Paso Police and Fire Departments.
• Lead governance initiatives, coordinate with DoITS, and align projects with city and department goals.
• Manage budgeting, resources, and timelines for large-scale technology projects.
• Ensure cybersecurity, interoperability, and effective training across systems and staff.
• Advise leadership on technology decisions to enhance emergency response and community safety.
• Supervise personnel, conduct performance reviews, and drive staff development.
