Job summary

State of Ohio’s Emergency Management Agency is seeking an Emergency Management Analyst to join a 24/7 operations team in Columbus. The role focuses on formulating policies, coordinating notifications, and analyzing disaster information to enhance situational awareness across state and local partners.

You'll support public safety initiatives, develop databases and reports, and work within a team that ensures prompt response to hazards and events.

Qualifications

• 36 months of experience in conducting research and writing reports using analytical techniques.
• Undergraduate core program in homeland security, political science, criminal justice, emergency management, public health, international affairs or related field.
• AND 12 months of experience in conducting research and writing reports using analytical techniques or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Formulate, revise & implement policies to establish situational awareness for hazards or disasters.
• Coordinate notification & response with local, state & federal officials; develop analyses of disasters & hazards.
• Develop, monitor, & analyze databases, spreadsheets & reports to assess impact of emergencies.
• Collect disaster information via phone, correspondence & other channels with EOC partners at all government levels.
• Monitor and disseminate situational awareness reports for the State of Ohio.
