Job summary
Cy-Fair Fire Department in Houston, TX is seeking a skilled GIS Analyst to support its Geographic Information System (GIS) and Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) operations. The role focuses on maintaining accurate mapping data to support emergency response and 9-1-1 calls.
The ideal candidate will manage GIS/CAD data, perform spatial analyses, develop maps and reports, and provide technical support to personnel.
Qualifications
- Maintain and update GIS mapping and CAD data for accurate dispatch information.
- Provide GIS/CAD support and help desk assistance to department personnel.
- Create and update base maps, specialty maps, spatial data, and other GIS products.
- Respond to GIS support requests and coordinate with vendors for issue resolution.
- Develop maps, reports, workflows, and other GIS products for projects and operations.
- Must be at least 18 years of age; High school diploma or GED; Associate’s degree in IT/GIS or related field; 2+ years of IT/GIS experience.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update GIS mapping and cartography used by the CAD system.
- Perform GIS functions using department systems and programming tools.
- Create and update GIS products for internal and external use.
- Respond to GIS support requests and provide data management and analysis.
- Develop workflows and reports to support departmental projects.
