Job summary

Requirements include a related bachelor’s degree, 3 years of experience in event coordination or public safety support, and ICS training within a year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required.
• Three years of experience in event coordination, project management, or public safety support is preferred.
• ICS 700/800/100/200 courses within one year are recommended.
• Must pass background check and CJIS security policy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manages public safety planning for community events, including parades, races, festivals, and demonstrations.
• Administers police staffing and operational plans for events that affect public property, roadways, and safety.
• Reviews event permits involving large gatherings or public spaces.
• Serves as liaison between event organizers and the Police Department.
• Develops and reviews event safety and operational plans, and produces event orders and diagrams.
• Coordinates with other city departments to set policies and standard procedures for events.
• Maintains records, cost estimates, and post-event reports.
