Job summary

City of Boulder is recruiting for a role coordinating police-supported public safety operations for permitted city-wide events. You’ll plan, staff, and coordinate with multiple departments and external partners to ensure events run safely and within city policies.

The position serves as the primary liaison for event planning programs, develops safety plans, and supports post-event reporting and cost tracking. Strong communication and project management are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field; 8 years of related experience may substitute for education.
• Experience coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong data analysis and reporting skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Manages public safety planning for community events.
• Administers staffing plans for events impacting public spaces.
• Reviews event permits for large gatherings.
• Liaises between event organizers and the Police Department.
• Develops and reviews event agreements.
• Guides organizers on agreement provisions.
• Plans event safety and produces event orders.
• Communicates commitments to departments and coordinates off-duty details.
• Supports contingency and incident response during events.
• Maintains event calendars and cost estimates.
