Job summary

The City of Aurora PROS is seeking an Events Coordinator to plan, permit, develop, organize, produce and evaluate various special and community events on behalf of the department and city.

Responsibilities include leading event efforts for 500 to 6,000 attendees, managing budgets and vendors, coordinating sponsorship activities, and ensuring marketing and communications support. A Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years in events are required, plus a Colorado driver’s license.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, recreation, or a related field or equivalence.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in special events.
  • Knowledge of permits, budgets and sponsorships.

Responsibilities

  • Plans, develops, organizes, implements, administers and evaluates city special events.
  • Coordinates events for 500 to 6,000 attendees, leading or supporting other events.
  • Manages budgets, security, vendor coordination, signage and equipment.
  • Works with marketing to define promotion needs, sponsorship deliverables and website content.
  • Coordinates volunteers, assigns onsite roles and maintains relationship with partners.
  • Performs contract management, permitting, deposits and annual reports.
