Job summary

The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania seeks a Police Communications Operator to support public safety by handling emergency and routine calls. You will be central to coordinating responses, relaying information, and maintaining records across radio, phone, and computer systems.

This full-time role includes rotating shifts with weekends and holidays; telework is not available. Minimum qualifications include two years of relevant radio/CAD experience or 60 college credits, plus required certifications

Qualifications

• Two years of experience using two-way radio, multi-line telephone, or computer aided dispatch systems.
• Two years of experience using computer systems for entering, updating, and retrieving information.
• Completion of 60 college credits; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Call Handling: Receive calls, question callers, and determine response priorities.
• Incident Response: Dispatch and relay incident information via radio, phone, and computer systems.
• Interagency Coordination: Contact municipal police, fire, EMS, and other services to relay details.
• Record Management: Use confidential databases and maintain incident information in electronic systems.
• Public Assistance: Respond to inquiries and assist visitors or arrange for a Trooper to meet them.
