Job summary

UC Health is seeking a Public Safety Dispatcher in Cincinnati, OH. You will determine call priorities, dispatch responders via CAD, and coordinate on-site safety operations across multiple UC Health facilities.

The role requires high school education or GED, an APCO certification within a year, and 3–5 years of experience, with 6–10 years preferred. Shifts include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate's degree preferred.
• APCO Basic Telecommunicator certification required within one year of hire.
• 3-5 years equivalent experience required; 6-10 years preferred.

Responsibilities

• Determine nature and location of calls for public safety, fire, medical, or other emergencies and use CAD to dispatch and monitor responses.
• Screen telephone and radio calls, collect information, and relay to safety personnel; update and retrieve information across multiple sources.
• Operate communications equipment, monitor alarms and CCTV, and coordinate on-site safety force activities.
• Work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays to maintain 24/7 dispatch coverage.
