Job summary

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is seeking a public safety dispatcher to handle emergency and non-emergency calls from patrons and employees. You will coordinate with Code Compliance Inspectors and Transit Security Officers to dispatch the proper units and retrieve video evidence from CCTV systems as required.

The role requires a POST Certified Dispatcher or progress toward certification within the first year, a high school diploma, and a valid California driver’s license.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. POST Dispatcher Course required or within first year.
• Must read, write, and speak clear English; proficient with MS Word/Excel.
• Must have or obtain California driver's license; familiar with California CJ system.

Responsibilities

• Answer emergency and non-emergency calls from patrons and employees.
• Dispatch CCIs and TSOs to calls for service.
• Retrieve video from LRVs and CCTV; provide copies to risk management, legal, and police.
