Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year as police dispatcher or equivalent clerical experience.
• Must type 30 WPM and 4606 KPH and monitor emergency radio frequencies.

Responsibilities

• Monitor emergency and general support radio frequencies and dispatch units.
• Receive 911 and non-emergency calls; communicate via multi-line telephones and radio.
• Record and route calls to appropriate authorities; determine priorities and dispatch units.
• Transmit messages via radio, telephone, and computer systems; access ACJIS as needed.
• Maintain status and location of units; create and maintain daily public safety logs.
• Provide caller pre-arrival instructions and essential information to responding personnel.
